Bride are carried by doli to the groom's house to begin their married life. The bride has her head modestly turned down and veil pulled far farward over her face. It also signifies the emotional tension of a bride being carried away from her father's house to live among the strangers of her husband's family. The Vidhikari is the knowledgeable woman who leads the bride through the phases of the wedding ritual.

Gauri puja
This scene is again Gauri puja. Where the bride leads in worship of the goddess who has brought her this husband.
The pond of life
The painting of the kohbar are in the interest of bride and groom. They are meant to assure a romantic bond between husband and wife, which will lead to his permanent affection of her and to their reproductively - as richly as the reproductively of lotus in the pond. Bamboo is an invariable part of kohbar, which means the bride iconize the husband's patrilineage as a stand of bamboo.
About my kohbar painting
The kohbar painting is filled with rich imagistic details, each contributing significance to the meaning of the whole. The dominant theme is pond life, filled with life forms and abundant in its productive powers.

Warli painting is the traditional art form of Maharashtra which depicts village life, social events and scenes of human figures engaged in activities in a rhythmic pattern.
I believe that the Warli tribes was a set of extremely very happy people as most of the painting were themed on wedding celebration, harvesting, dancing, hunting and simple household activities. I guess these are the blessings of simple life :). But in the time of modernity peoples forget folk arts which are the heritage of India. So, i take an effort to merge the two art era - folk art and modern art in my series of creative warli paintings.
